Our Story

To truly appreciate the story of Quaxitas, one must delve into the remarkable journey of our founder, Douglas. Hailing from the vibrant city of Hong Kong, Douglas has traversed an extraordinary path, excelling in both the corporate arena and the world of music.

He dedicated 13 years of his life to the realm of classical music, honing his skills as a conductor and keyboardist. His specialization in Early Music and English Romanticism set him on a trajectory that saw him working and teaching at some of the globe's most esteemed institutions and ensembles. With a rich discography and a global audience reached through TV and radio broadcasts, Douglas graced the stages of prestigious concert halls and cathedrals worldwide. However, in 2021, he took a step back from this illustrious career, disheartened by the prevailing standards and values within the music industry.

Transitioning into the corporate sphere was no easy feat. Douglas faced numerous rejections, but he defied the odds, demonstrating that his skills as a musician were not only transferable but invaluable in a different context. After gaining experience in the tech sector and establishing a search business for a startup, he found himself in the remarkable position of being appointed as the Head of Systematic Trading and Technology at a firm that had initially turned him away as a newcomer.

Despite his success, Douglas remained unsatisfied with the impersonal approach prevalent in the corporate world. This dissatisfaction led him to heed the calls of his clients and establish his own firm. From its inception, Quaxitas has built a reputation for being a company that genuinely cares about the interests of both its clients and candidates, even in its early stages of development.
