Cloud Engineer

PROFILE

We are collaborating with a prominent multi-strategy hedge fund to find a talented Cloud Engineer to join their newly established quantitative investment team. The individual in this role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining various aspects of their cloud-native data platform. This position will be part of a revenue-generating team and will collaborate closely with Quantitative Researchers and Data Scientists to define data outputs required for research.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architecting and orchestrating data pipelines for integrating new data sources
  • Developing analytical tools to support data analysis
  • Generating data for downstream analyses and dashboards
  • Enhancing parallel computing capabilities for machine learning, feature engineering, and automating quality checks
  • Collaborating with a team of skilled Quantitative Researchers and Data Scientists

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.
  • Familiarity with cluster computing frameworks like Spark and Dask, as well as schedulers like Airflow, Dagster, and Prefect
  • Proven experience working with data analysts to define data models, publish metrics, and construct dashboards
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, logical thought processes, and a quantitative aptitude
  • Demonstrated project ownership and a track record of delivering results
